37m Aluminium Superyacht Full Paint Restoration

overview

One of our largest paint projects to date, this 37-meter aluminium superyacht underwent a complete surface restoration. After thorough sanding, surface prep, and fairing, we applied a full Alexseal paint system to achieve a flawless high-gloss finish. The project was managed over several weeks and required coordinated planning between our in-house team. The end result was a fully rejuvenated superyacht exterior that now reflects premium quality and showcases the full capability of MS1’s yacht restoration services.

PAINTING

Boat Out of water
STAGE 1

The 37-meter aluminium superyacht was hauled out of the water, washed down and prepped. Our team completed a full surface inspection to assess the paint condition.

Scaffolding & Full Tent Enclosure
STAGE 2

Scaffolding was erected around the superyacht, and the entire vessel was enclosed in a custom-built white tent. This created a sealed environment that protected the yacht from dust, moisture, and weather — ensuring the cleanest possible paint application.

Sanding & Prep
STAGE 3

Old layers of paint were thoroughly sanded down across all surfaces. This essential step ensured strong adhesion for the new paint and revealed any areas requiring filling or repairs.

Filling & Fairing
STAGE 4

The hull and superstructure were filled and faired to remove imperfections and create a perfectly smooth base. This process was repeated until the surface was fair and ready for primer.

Masking & Priming
STAGE 5

All non-painted areas were carefully masked off. A high-build Alexseal primer was then applied to seal the surface and prepare it for the final finish.

Final Paint Application
STAGE 6

Multiple coats of Alexseal’s premium topcoat were sprayed to both hull and superstructure. The result was a deep, high-gloss finish that restored the yacht’s elegance and shine.

Detailing & Dismantling
STAGE 7

After curing, all masking was removed and the yacht was cleaned and detailed throughout. Edges, trims, and fittings were polished and inspected to ensure an immaculate final result.

Project Handover
STAGE 8

With the work complete, our team carried out a final walkthrough and quality check. The vessel was then handed over, fully restored and ready to be launched back into the water.
