Our team completed the installation of a Seakeeper 9 onboard a Princess Yacht 60, a project that required precise structural integration and detailed coordination. The installation included modifying the yacht’s structural base to accommodate the gyro, running custom wiring, and connecting the control units seamlessly into the helm station.

With the Seakeeper 9 now operational, the yacht enjoys dramatic roll reduction, improving onboard comfort and safety, especially when at anchor or cruising in choppy conditions. This upgrade ensures a better experience for both owners and guests.

EXTERNAL WORK

REMOVING THE OLD UNIT

STAGE 1

Before any installation work could begin, our team carefully removed the existing Seakeeper unit. All cables and components were disconnected with precision to prepare the space for the incoming upgrade.

REINFORCING THE BASE

STAGE 2

The mounting area was strengthened using fiberglass and aluminium, creating a durable and secure foundation capable of supporting the larger Seakeeper 9 unit.

NEW UNIT ARRIVES

STAGE 3

The new Seakeeper 9 gyrostabilizer arrived at the yacht, ready to be installed. Our team carried out a full inspection before handling.

CRANE LIFT OPERATION

STAGE 4

Using a crane, we carefully lifted the Seakeeper 9 onto the yacht. Precision and coordination were key to safely guiding the unit into the technical space.

POSITIONING THE SEAKEEPER

STAGE 5

Once onboard, the Seakeeper 9 was maneuvered into its designated position within the engine room, ensuring correct alignment for optimal performance.

SECURING THE UNIT

With the unit properly placed, it was bolted down to the reinforced base, ensuring maximum stability and safety during operation.

SYSTEM CONNECTIONS AND CONFIGURATION

We then connected all electrical and mechanical components, including the control display. The system was configured and calibrated to match the yacht’s specifications.

FINAL SEA TRIAL

To complete the installation, the yacht underwent a sea trial. The Seakeeper 9 performed flawlessly, significantly reducing roll and improving overall onboard comfort.
