Topsystem Surface Drive Installation

The Pershing 50, celebrated for its sleek aesthetics and powerful performance, arrived at MS1 for a performance upgrade. Our team installed a cutting-edge TopSystem Surface Drive, which is designed to significantly enhance speed, efficiency, and handling. This sophisticated system allows the yacht to achieve higher performance with smoother control, particularly at high speeds. 

The MS1 team expertly handled the entire installation, ensuring the Pershing 50 is now equipped for superior performance on the water.

OLD SURFACE SYSTEM
STAGE 1

This was the current condition of the propellers and shafts on the Pershing 50.

Removal of Surface system
STAGE 2

The old surface system was carefully removed from the stern of the yacht.

Inspection & planning
STAGE 3

Once the old surface drive system was removed, the mounting holes were inspected and a template was made for the installation of the new TopSystem Surface Drive.

Hull Refit
STAGE 4

Based on the specifications of the new equipment, the team had to widen the mounting holes to fit and hold the new TopSystem base.

Mount Base Installation
STAGE 5

The new mounting base was attached to the back of the hull.

SECURED TO THE HULL
STAGE 6

The base was pushed through the mounting holes and secured to the hull with silicon and bolts. 

ELECTRICAL SET-UP
STAGE 7

The electrical and hydraulic system was connected.

 

OIL & FLUID ADDED
STAGE 8

Filled the hydraulic oil and transmission fluid.

NEW SURFACE DRIVE INSTALLATION
STAGE 9

The new propellers were installed and secured to the shaft.

TESTING & COMISSIONING
STAGE 10

The TopSystem team came to check and ensure the surface drive system was installed correctly.

SEA TRAIL
STAGE 11

A sea trial was done to check the overall performance of the system.
