The Riva 56′ Rivale symbolised luxury and performance, and MS1 was entrusted with revitalizing its exterior. Our team began by sanding down the old paint, preparing the surface for a high-quality primer and multiple coats of custom metallic paint. The project was completed with a glossy top coat that enhances the yacht’s rich, luxurious sheen and provides long-lasting protection in harsh marine conditions.

Every step was executed with precision from start to finish, leaving the yacht looking as sleek as the day it was launched.

SCope of work

YACHT PAINTING

Dismantling

Stage 1

All equipment on board the yacht was removed.

Sanding

Stage 2

The old yacht paint was sanded down, until smooth.

Tent Preparation

Stage 3

The yacht was placed under a tent with an air-conditioning unit to bring down the temperature before the painting work began.

Washing the Hull

STAGE 4

The hull was washed with fresh water to remove any dust and the areas which were not being painted were covered.

Sanding Process continues

STAGE 5

The hull was sanded again to make the surface smooth.

Washing the Hull

STAGE 6

The hull was washed and cleaned once more, including the full tent to avoid any dust getting onto the boat once the painting started.

Application of primer

STAGE 7 A

As per requirement, 2-3 coats of primer was added to the hull. The team started the process from the top of the boat and worked their way down.

Application of Paint

STAGE 7 B

As per requirement, 2-3 coats of custom metallic paint was added to the hull. The team continued the process to the bottom of the yacht and worked their way up again. Painting the yacht in this way gave it a smoother finish.

Application of top coat

STAGE 7 C

1 coat of clear top coat was added to smooth the surface of the yacht and gave it a clean finish.

Sanding and Polish

STAGE 8

The hull of the boat was sanded once more to remove any minor bumps on the surface and was polished down.

Reinstallation of all items

STAGE 9

All items on board the yacht was assembled and reinstalled back in place.

Paint Work Completed

STAGE 10

The Riva 56' Rivale yacht painting restoration project is now complete and the yacht was launched back into the water.
